What are the payment and reservation details?

To begin, a non-refundable holding deposit of 2500 euros secures your place in our production timeline. This commitment kickstarts your vehicle’s transformation. When the project start date arrives, a 50% payment is due, allowing us to efficiently procure parts and initiate the build. If a vehicle purchase is involved, payment for the vehicle is separate. Our transparent approach ensures an efficient build process while providing clarity on your investment.

If I order a ZEV Garage custom, how long until delivery?

We will estimate a start date for your project to begin based on the current waiting list. The timetable varies. Delivery will occur generally no more than 4-5 months after work on your retrofit begins. Sometimes less.

After my production order and initial payment, how will I track the progress of the car?

Once your vehicle customization begins, you will be updated every 30 days. You will receive digital photos of work accomplished to date. Your vehicle will be built strictly according to your original working agreement’s build sheet. If at some point along the way you decide to extend the scope of the original project with additional options, billing will occur in advance for any pre-approved labor and/or material costs exceeding the initial project estimate.

The journey began with an idea: could a humble Soviet estate car become a head-turning, road-ready EV with character, presence, and soul? The answer is here—e-ZQL. The donor? A 1985 VAZ 2102, sourced in remarkable original condition from Finland. Nearly untouched, it carried just enough patina to tell its story—but under the surface, a transformation was brewing.

We didn’t just swap out an engine. We rewired its identity. The car was disassembled with the same care you’d give a classic muscle car. Suspension, brakes, and chassis components were all renewed—bringing the car back to life mechanically before giving it a new heart. The electric drivetrain was fitted with one purpose in mind: keep the spirit, but charge into the future.

And so, the gearbox stayed. An original manual transmission, now paired with an electric motor, controlled through a custom electronic clutch—delivering a tactile, analog feel that honors the car’s Soviet origins, while pushing it boldly forward.

Every choice was made with intention. From preserving the interior’s vintage simplicity to integrating the charging port behind the fuel cap, the e-ZQL is both homage and statement. A reminder that even the most unlikely cars can be part of a cleaner, cooler tomorrow.

Originally built for the Californian market in the 1950s, the Speedster became famous for its minimalism, driving feel, and drop-dead looks. Now, that spirit lives on—electrified.

We didn’t just restore a classic. We re-engineered it.

Starting from the original VW 1200 base, we stripped everything down to the core. The entire chassis was renewed with reinforced metalwork, including fresh floor panels and structural enhancements for modern performance and safety. Every rusted or damaged component was replaced or upgraded. The result? A rock-solid, all-black platform that can stand alone as a rolling masterpiece.

To retain the car’s mechanical soul, we made a rare decision: the original manual gearbox remains. A custom-engineered adapter connects it seamlessly to a modern electric motor, giving the driver something almost no other EV can—the joy of shifting gears in a classic sports car, powered by clean energy.
